The Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship held its annual research administrative symposium on September 9th, 2024. This event provided professional development and networking opportunities for over 250research administrators from the University of Miami. Dr. Maria Alcaide, Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship, welcomed attendees and expressed her gratitude for their efforts. Dr. Stephen Nimer, Executive Dean for Research at the Miller School of Medicine, discussed various research areas, including Aging, Physical Fitness/Bone & Joint Health, Cancer, Neuroscience, Virology/Emerging Infections, Mental Health, Nutrition/Metabolism Obesity Diabetes, Stroke/Heart Attack/Hypertension, and Inflammation/Immunology, and how these areas integrate with the IBISResearch system and much more.
The Symposium offered a variety of engaging learning and networking opportunities. A wide variety of topics were presented in 11 break-out sessions, allowing participants to attend those that sparked their interest or addressed a particular learning need.
