The University of Miami is dedicated to the reinforcement of ethical and responsible conduct of research. It is the University's goal to reflect this commitment through its common purpose of transforming lives through teaching, research, and service using the values and behaviors related to Diversity, Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, Compassion, Creativity and Teamwork.  In order to reinforce the University's goal, it is important to obtain a strong foundation on information related to compliance. Below are compliance pages divided by effort reporting, export control, financial and all other compliance services.

Effort reporting is a process mandated by the federal government to verify that direct labor charges to, or cost shared on, sponsored projects are accurate, timely, and reflect the actual level of work performed. It is the policy of the University of Miami to comply with all U.S. export control laws and regulations, and to develop and maintain an export control compliance program to enable UM employees, visiting scientists, postdoctoral fellows, students and other persons retained by or working at or for UM to conduct their University business in accordance with these laws and regulations.

It is important to take the necessary steps to ensure expenditure compliance in regards to policies and procedures set forth by the University.

Regulatory & Compliance Services is part of the Office of Research Administration and provides implementation, maintenance and assessment of all essential research compliance activities.
